2.) always make sure you have water in your hot water tank. Atwood rv water heater not working on gas or electric. Access socket wrench so you can pull out the nuts.

Unscrew The Junction Box Cover To The Back Of The Water Heater.


Put the junction box cover back on and turn on the water heater. Heating element measures 10 ohms and looks good. Push the button until you hear a click.

Both gas and electric stopped working: One of the most common problems with atwood rv water heater is a pilot outage. I am not the best with troubleshooting or electrical things, but here is what i have done and found out (i think) so far:

Find The Red Button Near The Heating Element.


Turn off the water heater. It takes less than a minute to burn out your electric element if it is not completely submerged in water. Then, pull the burner access cover out and use your screwdriver to unscrew the nuts on the thermocouple lines, gas, and pilot.

Noticed this week that the electric on my atwood 10 gal water heater is not working at all. Should be enough lines and wires to get it oout. The switch outside on the water heater is also on.

The Switch On The Control Panel Inside Is On And Lights Up.


The worst that can happen to any electronic appliance is for it not to work at all. That connection is creating a short circuit. Try this troubleshooting check if your atwood water heater fails to function in electric mode and save yourself lots of money and fix the problem
